Fire Fighting Team Day

22 August 2014

The 25th July 2014 will stay in the memories of Jayne, the Care Management, Personnel and Finance teams for quite a long time. The day was very hot in more ways than one! In anticipation we all arrived at West Midlands Fire Academy in Smethwick on the Friday morning and braced ourselves for our fire fighter experience day. After a kit familiarisation exercise we were soon abseiling down the fire tower and were completely fearless of course! This was followed by us putting out fires, cutting the roof off a car and last but not least rescuing casualties from a house fire wearing full breathing apparatus. It was a day that was full of adrenaline, very challenging but also proved we were focused and can get a job done. A huge thank you to WMFS and the Lads that looked after us that day ………….. When can we come back?
